"The Birthday Cake Problem" is the eleventh episode of Peg + Cat.

Synopsis

Peg and Cat are running a pizza place, and preparing for a visit from the Teens. Peg explains the situation, and that Mac cooks the pizzas, Ramone, approves them, and she and Cat serve them. The first problem of the day arises when a large pizza is in danger of falling off its small tray. However, as Peg and Cat run around in fear, the pizza ends up being accidentally launched onto a larger tray, while the pizza that was on that tray gets flung onto the first one, solving the problem.

Peg then serves the pizzas to the Three Bears, the skiing penguins, the dinosaurs, Beethoven, and the teens, who explain that it's the birthday of their friend Jonah. They order him a three-layered cake with creamy vanilla frosting, and Peg takes photos and a video of the teens, then accepts their request.

Jonah shows up, which worries Peg as she and Cat haven't made his birthday cake yet, but they manage to make it quickly. Tessa suggests putting blueberries and strawberries on the cake, having heard from Jonah's sister that he likes them. Cat wants to simply drop the berries onto the cake, but Peg wants to arrange them in a more complicated way, so they settle on a pattern of two blueberries and one strawberry.

Jessie then informs Peg and Cat that Jonah's brother, sister, and cousin have arrived. While Ramone goes to arrange the lighting, Peg and Cat prepare to put the candles on the cake. However, Peg freaks out because she doesn't know how old Jonah is. Thankfully though, Cat happens to play the video Peg recorded, which reveals that Jonah is two years older than Mora. Since Mora is fourteen, Jonah must be sixteen, so they put sixteen candles on the cake. The episode ends with two aliens arriving and everyone singing a song about the Teens.
